FedEx Ground Economy (formerly SmartPost) is a low-cost shipping service for lightweight residential deliveries. FedEx transports the package through its network and the final delivery is typically completed by USPS. Because this service has specific size and weight requirements, FedEx may not return rates if incorrect package dimensions or weight are provided.
Common Issue: rates are not returned
Many sellers use placeholder dimensions such as 1 x 1 x 1 inches for their products. However, FedEx Ground Economy requires a minimum package size of 6 x 4 x 1 inches. If package dimensions do not meet FedEx requirements, rates may not be returned.
How to Fix It
- Enter accurate dimensions and weight for each SKU.
- Or configure a default package size that meets FedEx requirements.
